Title: The Purpose of The Broadcast Community
Post by: Administrator on July 09, 2017, 11:47:42 AM
Facebook has become an unfriendly place (to say the least) over the last year. There is fighting, flaming, back-stabbing, race-baiting and many other "social" problems. Real life friends have been pitted against each other. Many users of Facebook are there for the use of the groups, but more and more people are feeling that it isn't worth all of the hassle and are deleting their Facebook accounts.

Several times, I have seen people asking if there is a Facebook alternative. There is. Many will remember the threaded discussion board sites like this one. They were huge before Facebook became mainstream. Facebook groups are easy to make but lack a lot of the functionality of a threaded discussion forum. Many have been willing to trade that functionality for convenience. Some of these groups have grown so large that the content gets lost in the other content. It is nearly impossible to find a topic that you read about 2 weeks ago.

Lately, I have been approached by a few people who are admins (or just members) of Facebook groups, asking if there was any way to make a user-friendly discussion forum experience without being tethered to Facebook. There is a better experience - Threaded discussion boards. Here at the Broadcast Community, we have combined the focal topics of several different broadcast-related groups and consolidated them into one, easy to digest format. Here are some of the benefits of utilizing a forum like this:
